Joy was looking for something new, a change of scenery, and a bit of an adventure. The urge took her north to Huntsville Ontario where she found a little more than a nice change scenery. Way up north in the Canadian wilderness Joy met Andrew….

…And that led us all to a gorgeous greenhouse in Newmarket Ontario. The sky was grey but November was teasing us with it’s last warm breeze of the year. Cavros Hair Studio stood closed for the day, its number one hair stylist was getting married and four best friends filled the shop. There was some serious excitement bubbling like the champagne, and true to her name you couldn’t wipe the smile off Joy’s face.

The sun had all but faded when Andrew met Joy at the end of the aisle at Madsen’s Gardens in Newmarket Ontario that evening. Their night wedding ceremony was lit by candles, and their vows didn’t leave a dry eye in the entire green house. It was technically challenging to shoot a completely indoor-night wedding and to capture a mood I don’t think I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph before. So thank you Joy and Andrew for having me along as your Newmarket wedding photographer, and now your friend. Your families were both so welcoming I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

The Berkeley Church is a wedding venue with character. Located in the Queen historic district in Toronto it was the perfect place to for Rebecca and Jordan to be married this summer. You couldn’t ask for a better day in the city when I arrived to meet Rebecca and her bridesmaids before the ceremony. Everything was on schedule and there wasn’t an ounce of stress in the air. Guests text and tweeted well wishes as the girls had their hair and makeup done and music played in background. I knew from the start their day was going to a wedding to remember.

Parry Sound Wedding Photography | Kim + Zach

Zach and Kim met on the shores of Georgian Bay. Zach was from the states and spend his summers in the rocky waters around Parry Sound. Kim was working at a fish and chip joint near her cottage to pay for a trip to South America. The summer they met Zach ordered some chips, and the rest is history. There really was no other place that they would want to hold their wedding than in Parry Sound at the Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts. The venue also doubles as the Bobby Orr Museum, and Kim’s Dad joked to all the American guests that we really are hockey crazy here in Canada.

You couldn’t ask for a better day to get married on, the wind was blowing and a few white clouds dotted the sky. This was the first wedding I’ve shot in Parry Sound and the place holds a special place in my heart as well. I couldn’t have asked for better shooting conditions and I’m so excited to share Zach and Kim’s wedding photography below.

I am gearing up for a weekend full of weddings, and though travel is not as far as last weekend I am still triple checking my bag. I’m a little too busy for a full blog post so I thought I’d share one of my favourite photos from this year so far. Amber and Jason had an outdoor wedding and the chance to take some great farm wedding photos in Waterloo Ontario last month. I couldn’t have asked for a better sunset.
